If you’ve been thinking about straightening your teeth but aren’t too excited about the idea of traditional metal braces, you’re not alone. Many of our patients—both teens and adults—come to us looking for a more comfortable, discreet, and flexible option. Invisalign® has been a great fit for many of them.
Whether you’re just starting to explore orthodontic options or you’ve already chatted with us in the office, this post will walk you through what makes Invisalign® a popular choice, who it works well for, and what you can expect if you decide to move forward with treatment here at our Long Beach practice.
WHY PATIENTS CHOOSE INVISALIGN®
We get it—life is busy. One of the main reasons our patients love Invisalign® is that it fits into their routine without too much disruption.
Here are a few things our patients appreciate most:
- It’s clear and low-profile. Invisalign® trays are nearly invisible, so most people won’t even know you’re wearing them.
- It’s comfortable. The trays are made of smooth, flexible plastic—no brackets or wires to poke or irritate your cheeks.
- It’s removable. You can take them out when you eat, brush, or floss—making it easier to keep your teeth clean and enjoy your favorite foods.
WHO IS INVISALIGN® A GOOD FIT FOR?
Invisalign® works well for both teens and adults who want a straighter smile without the look or feel of traditional braces. It’s especially helpful for:
- Mild to moderate crowding or spacing
- Overbites, underbites, or crossbites
- Patients who’ve had orthodontic treatment in the past but have experienced some shifting
During your consultation, we’ll do a full exam and take digital scans to see if Invisalign® is a good option for your specific smile goals. If it is, we’ll walk you through the process and answer any questions you have.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT OUR OFFICE
If you choose to move forward, here’s a general idea of what your Invisalign® journey with us will look like:
- Digital Scans and Treatment Planning:
We’ll use 3D imaging to map out your smile transformation from start to finish. - Custom Trays:
Your aligners are made just for you and typically switched out every 1-2 weeks. - Progress Check-Ins:
You’ll check in with us periodically (usually every 6-8 weeks) so we can make sure everything is on track.
The average treatment time is about 12–18 months, though that can vary depending on your needs.
